State Championships and the UHA National Finals

State Championships & The UHA National Finals

Our National Finals Hunt will based on the majority location of the top 16 in the UHA Open National Standings as of August 1, 2024.

For example, If 4 people are from Tx in the top 16, 4 from Ok, 3 from Ohio, and 5 from TN, the National Finals will be held in Tennessee.

The top 16 in the standings as of December 31, 2024 will qualify for the National Finals.

Those dogs that win their State Championship hunt in states that have one will also qualify for the National Finals. In order to have a State Championship in your state, the hunt must be a $100 open hunt with a minimum of SIXTEEN (16) entries. It also must have a minimum of $250 added money. If given 6 weeks notice, the UHA will furnish trophies to the King and Queen of Hunt at any State Championship.

To clarify, any State Championship Hunt must have a minimum of 16 entries in order for the winner to receive an auto invitation to compete along with the top 16 at the National Finals. You can schedule a $100 open hunt – State Championship with $250 added, and we will recognize the winner as the State Champion. However: the winner will only receive a National Finals automatic qualification if there are at least 16 entries.

As of 12/31/2024 the dog that is #1 in the National Standings (open) will automatically advance to the final cast at the National Finals. All other dogs that qualify will compete until there is a winner. At that time, the winner of the top 4 cast will face the #1 dog in the standings as of 12/32/24 in a 2 dog cast. The winner of that cast will be the UHA National Champion. The loser of that cast will be the UHA Reserve National Champion.

30% of the National Escrow money will be given to the UHA National Champion. 20% will be given to the UHA Reserve National Champion. Other escrow monies paid will be given to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place dogs based on placement of their finish at the National Finals Hunt, not the year end standings. They will be awarded 10% for 3rd, 6% for 4th, and 4% for 5th. The final 30% of the escrow money from the 2024 season will be divided up and paid to cast winners at the National Finals. Each cast win receives and equal part of this 30%. For example, if you win 3 cast, you will receive 3 shares of whatever the amount is. If you win only 1 cast, you will only receive 1 share of the amount.

Awards to be given at the National Finals at the minimum are –

100% escrow payout in the open as outlined above.

Year End awards will include buckles for both the Youth (Jr and Sr) and Open handler of the year. These will be awarded to those with the most points earned over the regular season, not including the National Finals. How points are earned is found on the official UHA website under the rules tab.

The Open National Champion, Open Reserve Champion, and those that place 2nd through 10th at the Open National Finals will receive trophies.

Remember, these are the minimum awards. We have been working hard to get sponsors on board and will certainly continue trying to get sponsors for our National Finals as well.

Please visit our sponsors page and give them your support.

Periodically, starting in May of each year, we will post on our Facebook page the total amount of escrow (which includes dog# monies) taken in so far for that season.
